IP Fabric Releases
IP Fabric Upgrade From Version 6.6.3
(or 6.7.6
)
Due to an issue identified within the System Administration UI, upgrading
IP Fabric from version 6.6.3
(or 6.7.6

Validation failed - Field pathName: "pathName" is required
. The issue has
been addressed in version 6.7.7

manually with an update file from https://releases.ipfabric.io/updates/.

We support the following upgrade paths:
- the latest version in the previous major line → any version in the
current major line (for example

→6.1.3
) - any version in the current major line → any newer version in the current
major line (for example
6.0.1
→6.2.3

next major line (for example

Current Release
The current major release is 6.7
. Please check the
detailed release notes for this release.
Our release naming follows semantic versioning. Where
components of the version are major.minor.patch+build
:
major
version changes if we introduce a change (typically backwards incompatible) touching APIs, deployment or key component of the platform.minor
version means a significant change, typically a new feature being added. These are typically backwards compatible, and we also keep the promise of API compatibility.patch
releases are frequently bugfix releases.build
is an internal version which increases with every internal build, thus can be pretty large number. It is used to distinguish between different packages.
Clearing Browser Cache
To ensure the product works as intended, please force refresh your browser cache after each IP Fabric upgrade.
The key combination for doing this depends on your operating system. In your browser window with your IP Fabric appliance’s URL opened, use one of the following key combinations:
- Windows:
Ctrl
+F5
- macOS:
Command
+Shift
+R
- Linux:
Ctrl
+F5
This will only affect the browser cache for the IP Fabric appliance.
Update Process
Our update process is based on Debian apt package resolving. As a result, we remove any configured apt repositories during the update. If you have manually configured any repositories, the update process will remove them. Please note that we are trying to keep the appliance as small and thin as possible, so any unwanted packages may be automatically removed.
